A huge thank you to all those that made the Winter Brunch special: our fabulous volunteers, the choirs from Hazeldale and Aloha, Kim Skondin, Amy Godwin, Irma Fabela, Nancy Zoucha, the generous folks at Farmington McDonalds, and, of course, Santa!
The 2nd grade is in need volunteers to read with the kids! We want to get all of our kiddos reading!!! It would be great if we could get one volunteer every day or, at least, volunteers three days a week per class (3 classes).
For example, Volunteer A comes in on Mondays, Volunteer B on Tuesday, etc.
Volunteers are needed 10:30-11:15, every school day.
Here is what it would look like:
10:30: Come in to the class. They’ll be finishing their mini-lesson. Kids will start reading.
10:45-11:15: Read with kids. (Your assigned teacher will provide a schedule of who to read with. This is one-on-one reading; you will not read in front of the class).
11:15: Walk out with the class, as they head to recess and lunch. Volunteers are free to go.
We’re looking to schedule from Monday, December 2, through Friday, June 5. If you can, please email email@example.com all days/dates you could volunteer.
You can come every Thursday and Friday through December 20th
You can come in the 1st Tuesday of every month through June 2nd.
Erin Belay will send a schedule in a spreadsheet that will block out all holidays and put your name next to the dates you have signed up for and which teacher.

We think we had a record-breaking crowd at this year’s Harvest Festival! We sold out of pizza (and chips… and drinks!) in record time! Thank you to our phenomenal volunteers who helped to make this event happen! We couldn’t do it without you!

Our annual fun run was spectacular. We saw some kids running so fast, they ran right out of their shoes! Plus, the 5th graders had nice cool run, when the rain started! Check out all the photos at this link!

The Beaverton School District has two vacancies on the Budget Committee and seeks a diverse candidate pool. These positions are in School Board Zone 4 (School Board member Donna Tyner) and Zone 7 (School Board member Tom Colett). The District schools represented in these zones are:
Zone 4: Aloha-Huber Park K-8, Beaver Acres, Errol Hassell, Hazeldale and Kinnaman elementary schools, the International School of Beaverton, Mountain View Middle School and Aloha High School.
Zone 7: Barnes, Chehalem, Raleigh Hills K-8, Raleigh Park, and William Walker elementary schools, Meadow Park Middle School, Arts & Communication Magnet Academy, and Beaverton High School.
Individuals interested in serving on the Budget Committee need to live in the zone they wish to represent. Zone maps are available on the District website. The School Board Zones do not entirely match school attendance areas.
Candidates must also meet the following qualifications: be a qualified voter of the District, have lived in the District for one year and cannot be a Beaverton School District employee.
The Budget Committee reviews the District’s budget and recommends needed changes. The Committee conducts business in evening public meetings held between November and June. The Budget Committee also approves the Budget Document and forwards it to the School Board for adoption by the end of June.
Budget Committee members will be appointed by the School Board.
